Location: The foreshore of Eastbourne, Lower Hutt. Stretching from Bishop Park to Pencarrow gates. Part of the Great Harbour Way - Te Aranui o Poneke.
Every now and then we like to do an adventure walk for old times sake. Eastbourne is great for this because beyond the beach, the mandatory sticks and shell hunts and all the playgrounds, there are also flat whites, scrolls, ice creams and fish'n'chips.
We call this highbrow walking - it's great when you want to bring in friends and whanau as the pace is only as fast as you feel like and only as far as everyone is comfortable.
If you are going to walk from end to end check the weather first as it might dictate what end you start from. It‘s also quite exposed for most of the way so make sure you have water and sun screen at hand.
